New BMJ Best Practice Comorbidities tool now available in CKN

You are here

We are delighted to announce that CKN users now have access to an innovative new Comorbidities tool within BMJ Best Practice.

One third of the Australian population are estimated to have multimorbidity, with up to 80% of those aged 65 and over having three or more chronic conditions.

The Comorbidities tool supports clinicians in managing these patients by offering guidance on the treatment of acute conditions alongside pre-existing comorbidities. It prompts the clinician to choose from a range of common comorbidities, and instantly generates a holistic management plan tailored to the unique needs of their patient.

The Comorbidities tool is available from within both BMJ Best Practice and its app. Find these under the CKN Point of Care and Apps menus.

Simply look out for the pink C+ symbol next to the Treatment Algorithm section of selected acute topics and click on this icon to automatically launch the tool.

For more information watch this 3-minute demo video or see the user guide, and attend one of the several training sessions (which will be recorded and published on CKN for on-demand viewing). A user guide is also available to download now on CKN.
